書籍簡介:
I started reading this book a few days ago. I have enjoyed it a lot! It's a story about a boy who experienced an air crash and survived. But he crashed somewhere unknown in the Canadian north. What he had was just a hatchet given by his mother. What will happen next? I really can't wait to read on. (By Ruth)
Well, it’s truly a breathtaking survival story. It shows how tough human can be and the nature's beauty. Since we've lived in the city, it's hard for us to feel the nature. The book surely takes us into the forest, to be with Brian and try to fight with the nature. It seems that we can also feel the breeze, see the beautiful bird and smell the moist of the air; the author really brings us into the survival game. Many plots are full of failure, tension, laugh and some experiences. Never afraid of having mistakes, learn from it! That’s what I learn from this book. Recommend you to read it, too! (By 心。羽。)
When I first saw the title of this book many years ago, I was expecting some horror story! But it turned out to be a great adventure story that was hard to put down. Growing up in the countryside, I've always appreciated the beauty of nature. But if I were Brian, would I be able to survive in the Yukon for almost two months? Honestly, I'm not sure. Although Hatchet is a fiction, I enjoyed Gary Paulsen's story and his efforts of trying to experience what it's like to live in the wilderness, such as making a fire from scratch and swallowing tutle eggs raw (yucky!), and so on. I hope you find this novel interesting and challenging. (By 黃昭瑞)
